Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki is the home of the visual arts in Auckland. Heralded in 1888 as 'the first permanent Art Gallery in the Dominion', the Gallery remains the largest art institution in New Zealand, with a collection numbering over 15,000 works. When the developed building opens on 3 September 2011, Aucklanders and visitors will experience New Zealand's largest art collection in a world-class public art gallery.
